What is a Building Certificate?
A building Certificate is basically a certificate of no action issued by Council under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.
The Certificate is issued under S149D of the Act
If you have received a notice from Council to demolish illegal/unauthorized works then you may be able to obtain a building certificate to retain these works.
